1 lb Small Red Beans
2 Quarts Water
6 oz. Tomato Paste
6 Slices Cook Bacon
½ Green Pepper (chopped course)
½ Large Yellow Onion (chopped course)
2 Chipotle Peppers, Chopped (from small 7 oz. can of Chipotle Peppers in Adobe Sauce)
½ T Granulated Garlic
½ T Whole Oregano (dried spice)
1 T Ground Chili
2 T Salt  (addition 3 T salt needed to soak beans)
1 T Pepper

Wash beans
In large stovetop pan, soak beans in 3 T salt and 2 quarts warm water 2 hours.
Drain and rinse beans.
Add beans and all ingredients to large stovetop pan and bring to boil in 2 quarts water.
Cover leaving lid a little cracked.
Cook on medium heat until beans are soft, add addition water if needed, but cook until most of the liquid is evaporated.
With potato masher, mash cooked beans 10 times to break up beans.
